Do you offer RV/Boat/Motorcycle/Vehicle Parking or Storage?
Many of our locations offer outdoor parking for RV’s, boats, cars and motorcycles; however, you will need to call your nearest location for availability and details. In addition, all of our locations offer inside vehicle storage as well. Remember to bring the vehicle title or registration, copy of insurance and a valid driver’s license. We can only rent a vehicle space to the Owner of the titled property unless Power of Attorney is present.
What is the difference between gate hours and office hours?
The gate hours are the hours of operation for the property or more simple when you can access your property. The office hours are the hours the office is staffed with personnel to assist customers with payments, rentals and the purchase of packing supplies .
When can I access my storage unit?
You can access your unit at most locations during gate hours posted online and at the store.
What is climate control?
Climate control is a feature we offer at most of our self storage locations. Our climate controlled units maintain a temperature of 55 to 80 degrees. This feature helps protect your stored belongings from extreme temperatures fluctuations and high humidity.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept cash, check and all major credit cards to include Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
Can I make payments and reservations online?
Yes, paying your storage unit rent online is available on the website homepage.
Are there moving trucks available to use?
Many of our facilities offer rental trucks and some even offer a free truck for use during move-in. Once you have identified a specific facility, we recommend contacting the facility directly to see if any of these services are available. Contact information is available online once you select a facility.
What sizes are available and how do I select the correct size?
We offer a wide variety of self storage sizes to accommodate your storage needs. Our units typically range from a 5x5 (25 sq. feet) to a 10x30 (300 sq. feet). Some facilities offer much larger units up to 900 square feet. Determining the right size is easy with the help of "what size do I need" assistance tool.
What type of documentation do I need to rent a unit?
You will need to bring with you a current, valid driver’s license or federal ID with picture to rent a unit. On all types of vehicle storage (boat/RV/car/motorcycle), current title or registration in the customer’s name is required with proof of insurance.
What security measures do you have in place?
Happy Boxes Self Storage takes great pride in protecting your belongings and strives to provide state-of-the-art security. We feature electronic gates with coded access, digitally monitored video surveillance, fenced and well-lit facilities and high security personal locks available for purchase. All locations also offer Customer Goods Insurance for that added piece of total coverage.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
An outdoor unit has access from the outside. Typically, you can pull your vehicle right up to the unit and unload your belongings right there. An indoor unit usually requires you to enter a building through a loading area or hallway to access the unit.
What is a drive up unit?
A drive up unit is a unit where you can pull your vehicle right up to the unit and unload your belongings and immediately place them in your unit.
Do you have moving carts available?
Nearly all Happy Boxes Self Storage that have inside units with access through a hallway or door will maintain an inventory of "moving carts" or "push carts", and dollies that may be used free of charge. If you find yourself renting an inside unit and need a moving cart, please let the Storage Consultant know and they will be happy to assist you.
What does "on-site" or "resident manager" mean?
On-site or resident manager means that an employee of Happy Boxes Self Storage lives in an apartment on the property.
Can anybody drive onto the facility or do you need an access code?
All of our facilities have an electronic gate system which can only be opened by an access code that is assigned to each individual tenant. This code allows us to monitor who is entering and exiting the property. Only current customers are able to enter our properties.
Can I pay my storage rent online?
Yes! Happy Boxes Self Storage has made it simple and convenient to make your payment. Simply log in to www.happyboxes.com and click on the "Make Payment" link!
Do I need to give notice when I am ready to move out?
Generally we would like as much notice as possible when you have made the decision that you no longer need the storage unit. When you do move out, just ensure you empty the unit, sweep the unit and remove your lock. (Many customers fail to remove the lock and we never realize they have moved out – to avoid additional charges follow the instructions above)
Do I need "Customer Goods Insurance Protection"?
You may carry your own insurance (check your homeowner’s or renters policy carefully to ensure there is coverage off-site from your residence); however, we strongly suggest "Customer Goods Protection" as a supplement or as your sole protection. Please ask our Storage Consultant for details. GOODS PROTECTION IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CUSTOMER.
Is there anything else that is required of me before renting?
We do require you to have a lock at the time of rental. If you do not have a lock, we can offer you one for purchase at the time of rental.
